RAFT of Greater Sacramento is the first Affiliate of the original RAFT based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Now 11 years old, the original RAFT is a thriving support center to more that 7,400 educators, providing a wide array of low-cost “found” materials, and training on their use in hands-on learning, to help educate and enthuse more than 500,000 children a year.

Mission: RAFT supports educational excellence by enabling teachers to more effectively teach science, math, and technology. RAFT is helping to prepare the workforce of tomorrow by providing a continual supply of top-quality teaching ideas and a broad array of unique, very low-cost materials to implement them. Removing barriers to hands-on teaching – deemed best by research – RAFT leverages community resources to affordably improve education.
