Who should volunteer? PDF Print E-mail

RAFT relies extensively on volunteer involvement to provide its services.  A wide variety of community members are engaged in volunteering, including the following categories: 

Corporate Employee Groups
RAFT benefits from the volunteer assistance offered by corporate groups. The groups range from 10 - 50+ employees per visit. The corporate groups often use the volunteers sorts for offsite meetings and teambuilding activities.

Professional Volunteers
This group of volunteers include business professionals volunteering in their field of expertise. The categories include: Marketing; Database and Web site; Business Processes; Finance and Fundraising; Leadership and Consulting.

Adults with Disabilities Groups
Organizations working with disabled individuals aid RAFT in processing materials. These groups work at their job sites on a weekly basis sorting and packaging materials.

Youth Volunteers
Young people are an integral part of our program. Every week high school and some middle  school students come to RAFT to fulfill community service hours required for graduation. These groups range from 10 - 25 students per visit. They sort and package materials and help with demos and sales. Additionally, we have volunteers from other Youth Service organizations such as National Honor Society, CSF, the Boy Scouts of America, YCS and Girls Scouts

Community Service Groups
RAFT regularly benefits from volunteer groups coordinated by organizations such as Hands on Sacramento and The Roseville Volunteer Collaborative . Additionally, we can host volunteer days for local service organizations.

Individual Volunteers
Individuals looking for special opportunities to help the community regularly assist at RAFT. This group includes RAFT members, retired teachers and individuals with a desire to support our community.
